Nominaties 87e Academy Awards bekend

Chris Pine, Alfonso Cuarón, J.J. Abrams en de president van de Academy, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, hebben vandaag in Los Angeles de nominaties bekendgemaakt van de 87e Academy Awards. Voor de eerste keer werden de genomineerden in alle vierentwintig categorieën opgenoemd. Voorheen werd volstaan met de belangrijkste categorieën.
The Grand Budapest Hotel en Birdman haalden de meeste nominaties binnen. De film kregen allebei negen nominaties, op de voet gevolgd door The Imitation Game (met acht nominaties).
De Nederlandse korte animatiefilm A Single Life, van regisseur Joris Oprins, is genomineerd in de categorie Beste Korte Animatiefilm. De Nederlandse inzending voor Beste Buitenlandse Film, Lucia de B., werd niet genomineerd.
De uitreiking van ’s werelds beroemdste filmprijs vindt plaats op zondag 22 februari in het Dolby Theatre in het Hollywood & Highland Center. De presentatie van de award show wordt gedaan door Neil Patrick Harris.
