Birdman grote winnaar 87e Academy Awards

Birdman en The Grand Budapest Hotel zijn met vier Academy Awards de winnaars van de uitreiking dit jaar. Maar Birdman won de prijzen in de categorie Beste Film, Beste Regisseur, Beste Camera en Beste Originele Scenario en mag daarmee als de ware winnaar worden beschouwd. Julianne Moore en Eddy Redmayne wonnen de prijzen voor Beste Actrice en Beste Acteur voor respectievelijk Still Alice en The Theory of Everything.
De Nederlandse inzending A Single Life in de categorie Beste Korte Animatiefilm zag de prijs aan zich voorbijgaan.
